Lakeside Amusement Park

Lakeside Amusement Park in Salem, Virginia, was once a beloved gathering place for families and thrill-seekers throughout the mid-20th century. Established in the 1920s, the park was situated near a serene lake that served as the centerpiece of its picturesque setting. Its wooden roller coaster, classic carousel, and bumper cars quickly became staples of local entertainment, drawing visitors from across the Roanoke Valley.

In its heyday, Lakeside was more than just an amusement park; it was a social hub. Community picnics, live music performances, and holiday celebrations brought life to the grounds.
